Though I’m conflicted about The Cardigans’ contemporary embrace of country, there is plenty good to celebrate from this period. The Roskilde Festival has produced some great perfromances from many bands over the years, and this is no exception. The hits still sound catchy and fresh, delivered with the same confidence as the new material. The standout tracks come back to back with the surprise of a new Black Sabbath cover (rather than their more well-known take on “Iron Man”) and the excellent “For What It’s Worth”. Seriously, Long Gone Before Daylight as a whole might be my least favorite Cardigans album, but this song is among their best. Enjoy!
