After the *perfect* Skyfall, Spectre had a lot to live up to. Does it succeed? No, but it’s not bad. The movie is a bit messy, but I like it quite a bit. The theme? Honestly, I’m not a big fan of Sam Smith. It almost works as a big, dramatic ballad in the same vein as classic Bond themes. Almost. For me, it falls a bit short. Same with the visuals. In some places, the octopus motif works better than others. Overall, I think this credits sequence is average, at best.

For now, this also marks the end of my Bond Themes Retrospective. Hope you enjoyed this little look back at the world’s favorite spy. I don’t think my impressions really changed all that much, though these reappraisals did lead to a few surprise considerations now and then. What about you? Final thoughts? Disagree with me completely? Love to hear your thought in the comments section below.

No Time To Die, the next James Bond movie, has been delayed to April 2021. Really looking forward to it! I hope it might mark a time when we can return to enjoying things like theaters together agian.

Bond Themes Retrospective Will Return.
