The former Pink Floyd founder’s first solo album, The Madcap Laughs, is a masterpiece, even if it’s often relegated to a footnote to the more famous band. Though there’s less material (2 full albums and a compilation) to choose from, the ‘best-of’s’ never select “No Man’s Land”. A real shame- there’s nothing else like it in his catalogue! It’s definately psychedelic, but the grinding guitars and delivery come across as something else. Grunge out of time, almost? Whatever it is, it’s fantastic!
