“Comfortably Numb” is one of Pink Floyd’s biggest songs. Deservedly so, in fact. Does The Bad Plus and Wendy Lewis, a modern jazz outfit have the skill to take this behemoth on? Well, yes and no. It’s a surprisingly effective attack. Very interesting and better for its differences from the original. I especially like the bass, piano, and production of the latter. Honestly though, I’m not a big fan of the vocals. Floyd comes out victorious!
