Released in 1969, this compilation collects 1964 era demos from when the band was starting out. Great choices, and makes for wonderful listening, in or out of context of where the band was at the time.
The band represented here is as crisp and melodic as The Byrds are known for. Though there aren’t astonishing surprises, if you are familiar with their popular stuido albums, there is plenty to enjoy!
Since the original release, there have been several increasingly inclusive versions culling more and more of the work under the addition of Sessions in the title. Though I think it’s great to have and compare multiple itterations of the same song, others won’t benefit from the most disc versions. Worthwile to have in some configuration though, for sure!
