Tommy may be important, but to me, not all that great. I like the idea of a rock opera, and in some places it works, but as a whole, the album never comes together. Each time I give it a listen, it always drags!
You might say “Pinnball Wizard” is a classic. The single version definately is, not the fragment present on the album. “Fiddle About” is the closest thing to a decent stand-alone song. Other tunes have nice bits and pieces, but are easily lost amongst the narrative.
Unfortunately not recommended.
