Fantastic split night! Both shows have their merits and sound awesome. While shorter, the afternoon set starts in the deep space of “Dark Star” before eventually grounding itself back to earth with Pigpen’s ‘Lovelight’ closer. Succinct but satisfying.

The evening show, with more time to breathe, flows in a heavier manner. Strong ‘That’s It’, the slowly disappearing ‘Death Don’t’, and then works through a frenzied, jam-filled sequence of surprises before finishing with a soft ‘Goodnight’.

I’d reckon this would be a candidate for a good official release someday due to the quality of the tape, the interesting divison between shows, and the last half? Whew! Smoking!
