89 is a great year for Grateful Dead, and this concert is no exception. Unfortunately, it is overshadowed by its more famous neighbor, the following night which is known for particularly spooky set. No arguement from me on the merits of that selection as the representative of that year for the official 30 Trips Around The Sun set. It is awesome!
Listening to the prior night gives a nice balance to things, as is part of the mentality of being a Deadhead. Complementing, for example; songs recently returned in to ratation “Dark Star”, “And We Bid You Goodnight” with new tunes “Picasso Moon” and Standing On The Moon”. Both have very different, but both tasty, second sets. Also of note is the choice inclusion of the rarer Mydland “Just a Little Light” (a favorite of mine). Hope you enjoy the other side of this Miami coin!
