Not a bad album, but not especially great. When the former Beatle is on, he shines. Unfortunately, most of these tunes are fairly tepid. That isn’t to say that it is a bad listen, just not very inspired. Take for instance, the cover of the Mcdonnald song “I Keep Forgettin'”. It’s fine. Compare to the original or David Bowie’s contemporous version. No energy. Not much to make it special. There are far better solo Starr albums to get first, and a few I’d recommend less.
