First impressions- not outstanding, but pretty good! This latest offering from Kane is a punchy and diverse album with more highlights than the occasional misstep.
In interviews, he had stated that the album was long in gestation, and while the lyrics/arrangements may have been so, the end product does feel a bit rushed at times. As his last few solo outings have been cohesive 60’s mod, it is refreshing to hear him branch out and utilize his inspiration from other genres, most notably, 70s glam. On more than a few tracks, the spirit of Bolan’s T.Rex is particularly evident. As is solo Lennon on a few others.
So, if you were on the fence, I’d recommend it. It’s diverse, catchy, and clocks in at just over half an hour, so none of the songs outstay their welcome. In fact, you will want to hear it again in no time!

Basically, if you use my link to buy the album, I get a small cut!
